Introduction:
This module is designed to make participants effective Agile team members / leaders by exposing them to an integrated approach to Agile Project Management. It is designed to develop the knowledge & skills needed to manage projects effectively using agile and hybrid project management approaches. Comprehensive sections including sample questions on each topic are covered. Discussions on assignments, homework and plan for post course studies.
Although this is a training course; the course is structured for application-oriented understanding of Agile Project Management as a discipline and not for BOOKISH understanding of Agile concepts. That is, the course helps the participants in BEING Agile and not only DOING Agile.
This course takes participants through a comprehensive agile development lifecycle and has lots of hands-on exercises for clear conceptual understanding.

- Explore, embrace, and apply agile principles and mindset within the context of the project team and organization.
- Deliver valuable results by producing high-value increments for review, early and often, based on stakeholder priorities. Have the stakeholders provide feedback on these increments, and use this feedback to prioritize and improve future increments.
- Engage current and future interested parties by building a trusting environment that aligns their needs and expectations and balances their requests with an understanding of the cost/effort involved. Promote participation and collaboration throughout the project life cycle and provide the tools for effective and informed decision making.
- Create an environment of trust, learning, collaboration, and conflict resolution that promotes team self-organization, enhances relationships among team members, and cultivates a culture of high performance.
- Produce and maintain an evolving plan, from initiation to closure, based on goals, values, risks, constraints, stakeholder feedback, and review findings.
- Continuously identify problems, impediments, and risks; prioritize and resolve in a timely manner; monitor and communicate the problem resolution status; and implement process improvements to prevent them from occurring again.
- Continuously improve the quality, effectiveness, and value of the product, the process, and the team.
- Help the participants to understand oneself, understand others, manage the interface more efficiently & effectively.
- While discussing Agile concepts, the major emphasis will be on BEING Agile rather than only DOING Agile!
- With the help of role play assignments/ simulations / case studies, motivating the participants to use the principles of Agile Project Management in their own work area.
- Understanding the difference between Agile and Waterfall approaches of Project Management.
- Understanding Minimal Valuable Product and it’s importance in Agile.
- During discussions major focus will also be on Scrum, Rules of Scrum, Generally Accepted Scrum Practices, Extreme Programming (XP), Embracing Change, Lean / Kanban, Eliminating waste and managing the flow etc.
